We at Howard Tax Prep LLC understand that sometimes “life” happens, and we certainly know that bad things happen to good people. When going through a temporary hardship isn’t it comforting to know that you have someone on your side? Howard Tax Prep LLC is offering to be that “someone” for you through our hardship tax preparation program.
The hardship tax preparation program is an installment line of credit agreement that requires a low down payment, and the ability to pay for your tax preparation services over a period of up to 3 months. To find out more please read our FAQs below.
WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?
The hardship program is intended to help those who need to file their tax return to complete a FASFA for college, and for those that need to reinstate an IRS installment plan before levies are issued.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?
To qualify applicants must be temporarily unemployed (for a period of 1-6 months), recently laid off (1-6 months), under employed, physically disabled, or age 65 and older.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Anyone that fits the qualifications of need and circumstance can request an invitation to apply. Howard Tax Prep LLC reserves the right to make the final decision on when the program line of credit will be offered, to whom it will be offered, and to what documentation will be accepted as verification of hardship.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T PAY MY INSTALLMENTS?
A late fee of $35 will be charged for payments received 10 days after the installment payment due date. Payments that are 30 days late will be REPORTED TO THE 3 MAJOR CREDIT BUREAUS: TRANSUNION, EQUIFAX, & EXPERIAN. Again, please note: LATE PAYMENTS WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR CREDIT REPORT!
WHAT ARE THE TERMS?
There are no application fees, no compounding interest, and no pre-payment penalties. Down payments range from $50-$100, with installment payments interest capped at 15%.
IS THIS A LOAN?
The hardship program is not a loan. The Hardship Tax Program is a line of credit for tax preparation services. The good news is that you don't need a certain credit score to qualify, and we do not perform a credit check on applicants. The hardship program line of credit is strictly based on need, not individual credit worthiness. However, because we do not check credit, clients must have an active credit/debit card, or a bank account that can be charged for monthly installment payments. Also, demonstration of need must be verified before any agreements are issued.
CAN I USE COUPONS/DISCOUNTS?
No coupons, discounts, or special offers can be applied to this program.
